Declassified papers reveal that the US Govt AGREED to Israeli Nuclear Weapons ownership in 1969

In 1969, Richard Nixon met with the then Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir to discuss the Israeli 'Nuclear Option'.

The Obama administration this week declassified papers, after 45 years of top-secret status, documenting contacts between Jerusalem and Washington over American agreement to the existence of an Israeli nuclear option. The Interagency Security Classification Appeals Panel (ISCAP), which is in charge of approving declassification, had for decades consistently refused to declassify these secrets of the Israeli nuclear program.

The documents outline how the American administration worked ahead of the meeting between President Richard Nixon and Prime Minister Golda Meir at the White House in September 1969
The officials – cabinet secretaries and senior advisers who wrote the documents – withdrew step after step from an ambitious plan to block Israeli nuclearization, until they finally acceded, in internal correspondence – the content of the conversation between Nixon and Meir is still classified – to recognition of Israel as a threshold nuclear state.

In fact, according to the American documents, the Nixon administration defined a double threshold for Israel’s move from a “technical option” to a “possessor” of nuclear weapons.
The first threshold was the possession of “the components of nuclear weapons that will explode,” and making them a part of the Israel Defense Forces operational inventory.

The second threshold was public confirmation of suspicions internationally, and in Arab countries in particular, of the existence of nuclear weapons in Israel, by means of testing and “making public the fact of the possession of nuclear weapons.”

In related news, Golda Meir was the first Prime Minister to expel black migrants out of Israel way back in 1971.

Golda Meir Was First Israeli Leader to Expel African Refugees

The current furor in Israel about the “epidemic” of African refugees “flooding” the country is unfortunately not new. Nor is the plan by the Netanyahu government to throw them into concentration camps or expel them. In 1969, Black Israelites began to arrive in Israel from the U.S. They claimed to be Jewish, but Israel’s rabbinical establishment rejected their claims. This meant they could not become citizens.

Finally, the Golda Meir government in 1971 began the process of expelling them. Over the years hundreds have been. Though there is now an uneasy truce, with 5,000 currently living in Israel. So Bibi learned this trick of turning a cold shoulder to Black refugees from a beloved leader of Israel’s Labor Party. So much for Labor’s liberal Zionism.

Thanks to David Sheen, one of Israel’s foremost activists on behalf of the African refugee community.

He’s dug up this racist letter written to Golda Meir, after she’d expelled some of them.

Also interesting to note is that Golda Meir was born in Russia, but grew up in Milwaukee, USA before immigrating to Israel. She also later returned to the then Communist controlled Russia as part of the Israeli Diplomatic Mission to Moscow and was guested by Polina Zhemchuzhina, the wife of the Soviet Foreign Minister Molotov.
Polina Semyonovna Zhemchuzhina (Russian: Поли́на Семё́новна Жемчу́жина) (1897 - 1970) was a Soviet politician and the wife of the Soviet foreign minister Vyacheslav Molotov.
